Cyndi Bernstiel

Cyndi Bernstiel is an accomplished litigation professional based out of Blue Bell, Pennsylvania, not far from Philadelphia. She graduated from the University of Delaware before attending Villanova University for her law degree. Today, she is a member of the bar in four states: Pennsylvania, New York, Maryland, and Ohio. She works at McClellan Bernstiel, LLP, where she and her team are dedicated to counseling companies with complex legal issues.

With over 25 years of experience in the legal profession, Cyndi Bernstiel is an excellent resource for companies in need of counsel on criminal and fraudulent cases. Formerly working in prosecution, she now represents large insurance companies and guides them through the investigation and litigation of cases involving coverage, bad faith, and fraud. Some specific areas of expertise include arson and fraud investigation. In fact, she was once selected by the International Association of Arson Investigators to teach an eight-hour course to other investigators.

Early in her career, Cyndi Bernstiel enjoyed learning through a criminal clerkship in the Superior Court of New Jersey. She then spent six years as a prosecutor and Assistant District Attorney. After trying numerous cases involving criminal offenses such as violent felonies and homicides, she became interested in white-collar crimes and arson. Now, she works on the civil side, and she loves working with her clients and conducting comprehensive fraud investigations.

Cyndi Bernstiel has established an impressive repertoire of skills and qualifications over the years. She has completed many hours of specialized arson investigation training and has multiple professional affiliations. She is a member of the CLM Insurance Fraud Committee Member, the National Fire Protection Association, the International Association of Arson Investigators, and more. Additionally, she has critical soft skills like client management and sound judgment that have helped her succeed in numerous cases.

Thanks to her positive reputation and history of success, Cyndi Bernstiel is often asked to present lectures and other speaking engagements. She loves sharing what she knows and often hosts her own training for insurance industry clients to help them learn best practices for navigating fraud claims while preventing bad faith exposure.

Outside of her career, Cyndi Bernstiel is active in her community. She started an annual charity event called the Superheroes 5k in 2013 in memory of a friend’s young son who died of brain cancer. Since its inception, the event has raised over $200,000 to support local families affected by pediatric cancer diagnoses. She has also served on the Board of Directors of the Montgomery County Child Advocacy Project, where she helps to advocate for children who are victims of abuse and neglect while their cases move through the legal system.

In her free time, Cyndi Bernstiel stays busy with her family and personal interests. She has three children who she loves to invest time into, and she stays active by running on a regular basis. She also loves to read, especially books about business, entrepreneurship, and personal development. She is a well-rounded individual who strives to leave a positive impact on her community and maintain integrity through her work.
